People from non-Schengen countries whose governments have not signed visa-liberalization agreements with France will need a visa.

How to get a French Visa

The first step is to find out where the nearest French Embassy or Consulate is located in the country of residence.
The next step is to download the France visa application form and complete it or simply complete the form online and then print it.

Then the following documents must be attached: two passport-size photos, a passport that valid for at least 3 months after the intended date of return, copies of previous visas, a copy of the return ticket reservation (do not buy the ticket yet), confirmation of travel visa insurance coverage valid for the whole Schengen Area for a minimum of €30,000, cover letter stating the purpose of the visit, itinerary, proof of accommodation, proof of civil status (marriage certificate, etc.), and proof of financial means.

Proof of employment is also required in the form of employment contract, copy of business license, proof of enrolment (for students), pension statement for the last 6 months (if retired), or proof of regular income from properties.

Additional documents include an invitation letter from the French company to be visited, a confirmation letter from the employer, proof of any previous trade relations between the two companies, the latest 6 months bank statements, business registration documents, and confirmation of financial support by the employer or French company.

The following additional documents are required:
• letter of invitation from the medical institution or a formal agreement for hospital admission,
• detailed information on medical treatment fees (if not covered),
• evidence of prepaid treatment such as payment receipt of medical fees or a bank transfer slip,
• applicant’s guarantee letter for capacity to pay extra medical costs,
• a verbal note from the country of residence’s Embassy in France of Ministry of Health guaranteeing payment (if treatment is covered by the government), or letter of confirmation from the employer guaranteeing payment (if treatment is covered by employer),
• medical report from local doctor responsible for the patient,
• confirmed hotel reservation or accommodation within the hospital/clinic for persons accompanying the patient,
• a certificate from the local medical authority confirming inability of the country to offer the required medical treatment.
