Black Mirror is a US/British anthology series that revolves around a group of people’s personal lives and how technology manipulates their behaviour.
Most episodes are set in futuristic worlds where electronic pollenating bees exist among robotic policing dogs! But there’s an episode in particular with a heartwarming lesbian storyline and that is Season 3 Episode 4, San Junipero!

The episode is set in a beach resort town named ‘San Junipero’, where the introverted Yorkie (Mackenzie Davis) meets the more outgoing Kelly (Gugu Mbatha-Raw). The town is part of a simulated reality the elderly can inhabit, even after death. It’s a wonderful love story between two women with an added bonus of funky 1980s music and setting!

Curl Girls is a six-part American reality television series that premiered on Logo on June 18, 2007. Curl Girls is the first lesbian reality show on a major television channel.

Bad Girls (UK)

Lots of lesbian action in another women’s prison Tv Series, the UK’s Bad Girls was a popular mainstream series in the late 1990s. Bad Girls has been described as a hard-hitting ITV drama series depicting the trials and triumphs of prison inmates and officers in the notorious women’s prison of HMP Larkhall.

The initial inhabitants of Larkhall’s ‘G’ Wing, overseen by Wing Governor (and eventual lesbian) Helen Stewart (Simone Lahbib), inmate lesbian Nikki Wade (Mandana Jones), a woman serving time for murdering a policeman who assaulted her girlfriend. The unusual relationship that develops between Helen and Nikki highlights the complexities of prison life and the unique and intense environment of Larkhall.

One Mississippi

This Amazon original series is a dark comedy inspired by events in lesbian comic Tig Notaro’s life. Starring as a Los Angeles-based radio host of the same name, Tig is still dealing with serious health issues, including recovering from a double mastectomy.

When her mother becomes gravely ill, Tig returns to her hometown in Mississippi, where she is forced on a painful (and at times, hilarious) journey that unearths uncomfortable truths about herself and her family. In order to heal, both physically and emotionally, Tig must reconnect with her roots before moving forward.

The Fosters

In amongst the dark twisting alleyways of Victorian London, the stories of two very different young women collide with terrifying consequences. She’s been protected and cared for by Mrs. Sucksby (Imelda Staunton), who believes Sue is too good a girl to get directly involved in such a world. But when Mrs. Sucksby’s old friend Rivers offers 20-year-old Sue £3000 to assist him in one of his scams, Mrs. Sucksby agrees to conspire.
Arriving at the estate where Maud lives with her wealthy Uncle Lilly (Charles Dance), Sue enters another world. Maud and Sue are of a similar age and appearance but their experience of life couldn’t be further apart. Maud’s existence is one of wealth and prosperity inside a grand house, where her duties are limited to nightly readings to her uncle and his friends.
The two young women become friends but Sue’s growing feelings for Maud cannot prevent her from going through with Rivers’s scam. On Sue’s advice, Maud accepts Rivers’ proposal of marriage. But not everyone is who they appear to be, and a series of plot twists leave viewers unsure of who can be trusted.

Written and directed by Lee Rose, ‘A Girl Thing’ is a mini-series that revolves around a New York city street, a coffee house, and a psychaitrist’s office. Dr. Beth Noonan is the therapist to one star per hour.

LSB is the first Italian web series dedicated to lesbian girls last generation. Rome, college, life between roommates, loves that begin to come to terms with society, prejudice and often with doubt about his identity.

LSB then tells the story of a group of friends who from different points of view, often very distant, are confronted on the subject of homosexuality. For this series is geared to an audience including non-gay, but certainly curious and friendly.
The series of twelve episodes were entirely written and self-produced by Geraldine Ottier and Floriana Buonomo. The two young authors wanted to challenge the silence and the stereotypes that still pay into the gay world women with few resources and a lot of passion. Geraldine and Floriana offer the public the Italian web this their first job to try to draw one of the many contours of love and friendship between young women.
