Round the World Magazine

Accommodation Review: Snorri’s Guesthouse, Reykjavik, Iceland

“We stayed here during our first round the world trip and it was honestly one of our favourite accommodations.”

We were given a beautiful room which included a little dining table by the window where we sat and watched the delicate snow fall in a typical Icelandic February.

The Guest House was so quiet and we were given a special offer of 4 nights for the price of 3.

The owner of the guest house is the friendliest guy you could ever wish to meet, he made us an amazing breakfast and helped us out so much with local tours and eating out tips.

We were given a family room with a sofa, TV, hairdryer, fridge, kettle and dining table. It was super warm, comfortable, and we were even given luxury robes to enjoy.

Room Tip:Ask for a high floor as there are some underground rooms by the kitchen.

The Facilities
Bathroom – The shared bathroom was so clean and warm with luxury toiletries.

Kitchen – There is an amazing kitchen in the basement with an oven and hob and an island where we made our own food most nights as we were budget backpacking. This is the same area where breakfast is served.

Food and Drink
The breakfast was phenomenal, a buffet with a choice of breads, cereals and a wide range of delicious fresh fruit such as strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, oranges and bananas.

This was accompanied with a hot and cold drinks. A perfect start to a brisk Icelandic morning.

The host set this up on the island and we could help ourselves to as much as we wanted.
